Case Study: Kremenets Botanical Garden
Kremenets Botanical Garden is located in the historical Western Ukrainian city of Kremenets. One of the founding fathers of the garden was an Irishman Dionysus McClare. Having an Irish connection also, Grain Land Ukraine is very keen to keep this link strong and preserve what had been started over two centuries ago. It has sponsored the opening of a new Irish Corner in the garden which promotes Irish plants and trees. These botanical gardens were largely neglected since the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991, and along with the Ukrainian government Grain Land Ukraine has been one of the first private companies to invest in this wonderful treasure of the community.
