Grain Land Ukraine pursues a system of minimum tillage or Min-til (www.moore-unidrill.com) on its operations in Ukraine. This system of cropping involves cultivating the land as little as possible after the harvest of the previous crop. Grain Land Ukraine is greatly enabled in this system through the use of Moore Unidrills. It is one of the few companies in Ukraine to use the Moore Unidrill and it enables the drilling of new crops directly into the stubble of an old crop or into a seed bed which has been only disc harrowed and not ploughed. Min-til is one of the most efficient methods of agriculture, minimising fuel and labour costs and optimising the use of machinery and represents a key element of the company's strategy.
Min-til is also very environmentally beneficial as it causes minimum soil erosion and reduces damage to the soil structure through minimal compaction. |
